Childhood Lesson
By: Zach J

One day I was at a CU football game. It was a great game CU was winning and everything was great. Then I got some dip and dots and something to drink. I was walking up the stairs to get back to my seat and this other guy was coming down the stairs. In that brief moment I got ran into by that guy my food was air borne and then it was on the hot metal stairs.

He said, “sorry” then just carried on as if nothing happened I was furious.

The least he could have done is made sure I was okay or got me some food because I had to bites of what I got. I did get something out of this experience though. I learned that you should always give people help if make a mistake unlike what the man at the football game did because he didn’t give me a helping hand after he ran into me. I now know that you should always help somebody up if you knock them down. Also from that day forward the people sitting in front of us who also had season tickets. Would always call me dip and dot.

They would always say," Hello dip and dot," I was always happy to see them because they were so nice to me.

I still don’t know the peoples names but they are still just as nice to me. I think that the world would be much nicer if people would give each other a helping hand if they make a mistake. If I was in the situation of the man that ran into me I would have given the person money or went with them to get more food. I would not have just said sorry and acted like nothing happened. I hope that we sit next to the nice people for the rest of the year. I also kind of wish I did something to get him to do the right thing. I hope that if that happens to some other people the right thing happens to them and they learn from it. I remember some of the people that sat near us were angry to and felt bad for me. I hope that the people get season tickets every season.
